My Cup Runs Over

For the last few years, our church calendar has included our ‘Take Over’ or  –as they are being called this year– ‘Over Run’ services. It can be hard in any church to get a full sense of all the ways and all the places that Jesus is active and calling us into His work. Each year, these services seek to remedy that just a smidgen.

When we gather together and hear about the change Jesus is making in communities and in people’s lives, we gather around the Risen Jesus in our midst and worship Him for what He is doing. We recently heard how our youth are experiencing Jesus. Last week, as we joined with two other churches, we saw how Jesus is using the people and programmes at LOOP to restore and bring about justice in an unjust world. What a great answer to anyone who would say that God is not alive and active in our places and spaces!

The next three weeks see us being ‘Over Run’ by three more groups. Our small groups and ministries will show something of how Jesus uses those places where we think we are being used to transform others to transform us too. We will also hear from our Elders, learning a little more about them and what they sense Jesus is inviting us into. Finally, we will hear from Freedom Trust, a rich answer to prayer as they seek to best serve Jesus by best serving our community.

Come and be prepared to be ‘Over Run’ once again this Sunday.
