If you’ve been a follower of Jesus for more than five minutes, you know this transformation stuff never finishes. Just when we think, yay, I’ve finally mastered something –like self-control or patience– we get home and the dog has had an accident on the new rug while the cat has seemingly danced vase-water around the house.
And there seems to be an interesting correlation: the more we spend time with Jesus and by His Spirit are transformed into His image, the more aware we become of how far we have to go.
Our next nine-week series will take us through to the AGM and Advent, looking at the work God is doing in and through us as we change. What does it mean to follow Jesus wholly and maintain a devoted heart of worship? How do we maintain a love for His word, stay faithful in prayer, and embrace what it means to be a family of God? And where on Earth are we sent?
We’re also leaning into the fact that we are all different. Transformation and unity in Christ doesn’t mean conformity. Throughout this series, we’ll be asking for your input. Each week, we want you to share what has worked for you in a particular area, as well as things you struggle with or still wonder about in the midst of a struggle.
I am looking forward to being blessed by the various voices we’ll hear, reading some gems that help us find new ways to be with Jesus, and pondering some hard questions together.
