Those who lead give sight to those who follow, those who follow give life to those who lead

It is with great honour that our leaders serve the tamariki of our congregation each Sunday. There is opportunity for each of our leaders to engage in their skills, passions and knowledge when running our programmes. Through this our leaders are blessed with new knowledge, faith insights and joy. We are embracing the great energy that tamariki and their whānau are bringing to our congregation currently. Across Kanuka, Matai and Totara we are seeing growth in not just numbers but in the depths in which young people are exploring who they are and where they fit in this community of Papanui Baptist Church.

Through the month of August we are journeying through the Renew Together series alongside the rest of the congregation. We have had the opportunity to learn about our international missionaries, God’s creation, our individual uniqueness, our strengths, and how other people live around the globe. Together our perspectives are growing beyond that of ourselves and stretching to understand God’s kingdom in a wider sense.

As we go through Renew Together the children have been pondering these questions and we encourage you to as well:

Creation: What can we do to help look after God’s creation? What are some big and small steps we can take together?

People: Who could I talk to this week that is different from me? How are we identifying and celebrating the strengths and uniqueness of other people?

Calling: What does “being called” mean? What might you be called to do? Or you might reflect on the great places God has taken you. How great is our God!
