God is doing a new thing! It was a wonderful time together on Sunday – our largest regular gathering since the first lockdown in 2020. It felt like a celebration! I don’t know about you, but in my spirit I sense God bubbling away in our family of faith, drawing people into new relationship with Him and drawing new people into relationship with us as well. Being the first Sunday of spring – and a beautiful one at that – it seemed fitting to talk about God doing a new thing. The message from the book of Isaiah by John Tucker – principal of Carey Baptist College - drew our attention to what God is doing not only in New Zealand, but around the world, and gave us a message of hope for those that may feel in exile as Christians in our own country. A big thank you to our missions points team for facilitating the Renew Together series which reminded us of our place and our part in bringing Gospel renewal to people and places. God is doing a new thing!
Thank you to all who contributed and provided feedback into our church strategy over the months of July and August – vision, mission, values, pathways, goals. We received feedback from over 45 people during grow nights, from many of our small groups, and from individuals. We are now in the process of distilling the feedback and incorporating it into what will be our final version ready to present to the church before the AGM. I love the process of discerning together and seeing God at work in and through each of us.
God is doing a new thing and we get to be a part of it!
