I am so thankful this morning that I seek after a God who wants to be known by me. He isn’t
capricious or secretive, yet His ways are oftentimes unfathomable and mysterious to me.
That is one of the reasons I am so enjoying our current series looking at some of the names of God,
we get a chance to delve a little bit deeper, gaze through the window a little more intently into the
character, the very nature of the One who calls us. As I said last week, when God at the very first
spoke to Abraham it was a missional call; one that would see ALL families blessed through him.
As we saw in our series of the book of Micah, one of the roles of the prophets was that of a
covenantal lawyer, holding the people of Israel to account for upholding their part of the covenant,
and to represent the goodness and holiness of God in the earth. For their call was missional too, that
through them ALL nations would be blessed.
Our own personal call is missional as well, wherever our feet may find themselves there is where our
mission is, to represent the goodness and holiness of God to those around us. As we come to
understand the nature and character of God better, we are more able to understand and cooperate
with the Spirit as we are transformed into that nature ourselves.
Jehovah Tsidkenu, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Rohi, Jehovah Rophe.
How is God calling on you to reflect these things where you are?
