The Old Testament is not boring! If I could travel back in time and tell my (even) younger self this, I wonder how much more of our God's character I could've come to know. Sure, there are a bunch of laws and many mentions of sacrifice, but the joy of coming to a deeper understanding of God's faithfulness in covenant with his chosen people truly is a beautiful thing. As we continue to journey through Exodus, may you continue to grow in your love of God, as you come to know him and his character in new and fresh ways. To him be the glory, now and forever.
On Sunday, I shared an update about Y@P and where we feel God is leading our young people in 2024. We're excited to dive deeper into the person of Jesus with our high-schoolers this year, to see what the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to them about the character of Jesus himself. We also sense the opportunity to encourage our young people in how God has made them with purpose, in his own image; as their own strengths and characteristics reflect that of the person of Jesus too. This will dovetail nicely alongside our Exodus series on Sundays, as God continues to reveal his character to the Israelites.
A significant event for Y@P in 2024 begins in just over six weeks, and that is Eastercamp (EC). Over the five days of EC, our young people will experience the goodness of the character of God through activities, sport, shared meals, singing, workshops, speakers sharing the story of Easter, ministry time and more; all as part of our worship as a community. But we cannot do this alone! Please consider helping us with any of the following:
- Sponsorship: 8 young people @ $250pp and 10 leaders / camp parents at $200pp. Sponsorship can be processed via eftpos on a Sunday morning, or done online through internet banking. Please use 'Eastercamp' as the reference.
- Set up (Saturday 23rd March) and pack down (Monday 1st April).
- Baking: To be dropped off at the office from Monday 25th April.
- Prayer: Before, during and after Eastercamp.
