Jack and I are incredibly excited and grateful to be stepping into the Youth Ministry role at Papanui Baptist Church. It feels especially meaningful because this community has played a significant role in shaping who we are today. Fun fact: Jack and I actually met at Y@P back in 2016 when I first started attending Y@P as a young person.
We both came from non-christian homes and were first introduced to Christianity through Y@P. Youth Group became a safe place where we were welcomed, challenged and encouraged to ask questions about Jesus. Through the unconditional love of our leaders and the wider Church we were able to encounter Jesus in a real and personal way that completely changed the direction of our lives.
It is a huge privilege to now be serving in the same space that once invested deeply into us. We are passionate about coming alongside the young people in our community, building genuine relationships, creating spaces where young people feel welcomed and safe and most importantly, exploring what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
We are overjoyed to be a part of what God is already doing in the lives of our young people.
